What changes your mailing cost?

Does double-sided printing cost less?

Often, yes. Two PDF pages share one sheet, so a 6-page document drops from 7 sheets to 4 and from a larger envelope to a standard one: $3.08 instead of $5.66.

What is included in the price?

Printing, the added address page, the envelope, First-Class postage, the processing fee, and Certified Mail when selected. This is the complete estimate for one US recipient. Review your letter and final price before payment. Certified Mail is available here for estimates only.

Why does Postmarkr add an address page?

We add a page for the mailing addresses. Enter only the number of pages in your PDF; the estimate includes the address page automatically. Pages are printed sides, while sheets are physical pieces of paper. Double-sided printing can put two pages on one sheet.

When is a flat 9×12 envelope required?

At 7 physical sheets. The larger envelope is included in the estimate automatically when your page count and sides choice reach it.

How much does color printing add per page?

Color costs $0.25 more than black-and-white on the first page and $0.20 more on each additional page, including the address page, before the processing fee. Choose Color above to see your total.

Methodology & sources

Postmarkr budgeting uses the current service total per letter multiplied by monthly volume. Each letter is priced separately; this is not a subscription or a bulk discount.

The DIY range uses editable materials/postage, preparation time, hourly time value and post-office-time assumptions. It is a model, not an audit of your costs. For staffing, equipment and outsourcing trade-offs, see the mailroom cost guides.

Model inputs: hourly time value $21.64 (BLS, May 2025 (opens in new tab)); supplies and postage $0.91 (Retail 2026 (opens in new tab)). Preparation time of 5 minutes per letter and a 45-minute post-office trip are editable estimates (Industry estimate), not measured averages.

Postage-only rates belong to the USPS rates reference; this page owns the complete print-and-mail cost.
