First-Class letters don't carry a tracking number the way packages do, but Postmarkr surfaces USPS processing scans in your dashboard when available, so you can see the piece moving instead of guessing. When you need formal delivery proof, that's Certified Mail's job.
First-Class delivers the letter; Certified adds a mailing receipt and delivery record on top of First-Class postage — you pay for evidence, not speed. If a statute, lease, or contract names Certified Mail, send it Certified. The guide covers when the extra cost is actually required.
EDDM blankets every mailbox on a postal route without an address list — good for open-anyway offers. Addressed letters go only to people you choose — better when you have a customer list. The EDDM guide has the decision rules and postage math.
